Training on Forest Carbon Measurement and Monitoring in the ESIP landscapes of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh

33 Training programmes under Forest Carbon Measurement and Monitoring component of ESIP are organized since initiation of the project. Capacity building of the State Forest Department was developed in determination of sample size, laying of sample plot and estimation of forest carbon stock in forest ecosystem. State Forest Department officials were also trained on application of Eddy Covariance technique on measurement of forest carbon measurement and role of remote sensing and Geographic information system for forest carbon stock measurement. Hands-on training on measurement of forest carbon stock were organized for the Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMC) of the project area. JFMC members were made aware on the climate change impacts on forest ecosystem, laying of sample plots, collection of data from the sample plot.
